|Lawyer Referral Service: For the Public|
The Arlington County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) was established in 1969. For more than 45 years, the LRS has been helping individuals and businesses find local attorneys practicing in Arlington and the surrounding areas. The LRS is a service to the general public for assistance in finding a qualified attorney who specializes in the fields of law in which you need help. Attorney recommendations are based upon such considerations as the type and complexity of the legal problem, geographical preference, native language, personal schedule, and financial means. For a minimal fee, clients are provided a half-hour consultation. After the initial consultation, any additional legal services are negotiated directly with the attorney.
The attorneys that participate in the LRS program are pre-screened for his or her good standing with the Bar and experience in a particular practice area of the law. LRS attorneys must maintain malpractice insurance. During the initial consultation you can discuss your case with the attorney and the attorney fees needed for additional representation.
If you are looking for an attorney, we will help match your case as best we can with an attorney that specializes in the appropriate field of law.
Initial Consultation: You will be charged a nominal fee of $50 for the initial 30-minute consultation.
Further Representation: Further legal services, if required, become a matter for discussion and agreement between you and your attorney. Some attorneys charge a flat fee. Others require an initial retainer and charge by the hour. In some types of cases, including personal injury cases, the attorney may accept the case on a contingency fee basis.
