The Arlington County Bar Association provides many opportunities to serve our local community through its Committees and Sections.

Continuing Legal Education Committee: The Continuing Legal Education Committee develops a continuing legal education program for members of the Association and local legal community with the primary purpose of aiding members of the profession in keeping informed of new developments, securing speakers on legal subjects and assist the members in obtaining an enhanced understanding of the practical aspects of the practice of law.


Courts Committee: The Courts Committee serves as a liaison to the Arlington County courts to collaborate, educate and enhance judicial administration and attorney practice. The Committee makes recommendations regarding the physical condition of the courtrooms and court facilities as well as recommendations to maintain positive Bar-Bench relations.


Membership and Program Committee: The Membership and Program Committee focuses on maintaining the Association’s relevance to its members by providing programs and recommending benefits designed to retain current members and attract new members.


Judicial Selection Committee: Members of the Judicial Selection Committee are selected by election by the members of the Bar to assist the Association in evaluating and endorsing qualified candidates for judicial vacancies, and communicating their findings with the appropriate legislators and public officials.


Community Outreach and Rule of Law Committee: The Community Outreach and Rule of Law Committee provides programs for community service and dissemination of the Rule of Law to enhance the legal community’s service to Arlington County.


Lawyer Referral Committee: The Lawyer Referral Committee recommends policies and procedures for the administration of the Association’s Lawyer Referral Service in cooperation with the executive committee in designing an effective message to reach potential clients.
