Dear Members,

I hope you and your families are staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time.  Though our events had to be cancelled this spring, the Board has been working hard to plan for our upcoming elections in June.

Being a part of the Board has been an extremely rewarding experience for me as we organized service activities with the Capital Area Food Bank, Arlington Parks & Recreation, the Arlington Food Assistance Center and the Virginia State Bar's Young Lawyers Division.  We also partnered up with GMU Law by planning a panel event for students and co-hosted a FOIA CLE with the ACBA.  Though these are only a few of the events we offered to members this past year, I am looking forward to the other events and activities our new Board will plan with your involvement and help.

Nominations are open for the following positions: 1) President-Elect; 2) Secretary; 3) Treasurer; and 4) 10 Board of Director Positions.

If you are interested, please email me at with your name, the position you are running for and a brief response to why you would like to serve on the Board by Friday, 5/22.  The election will occur electronically in June and the election results will be announced at the June 24th Annual Meeting/Board Meeting of the AYLS.  The new term for officers and board members will subsequently begin on July 1st.

In order to serve on the Board, you must be a member in good standing of the Arlington County Bar Association.  If you have not done so already, please sign up to become a member at:

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
